Death is a reality in which all human beings believe. However, it is also a reality which most of us like to keep out of our minds.

In Islam, it is not an end to our existence; it is a passage that takes us from this world to the hereafter—the actual purpose for our creation and the result of our work in this life. Whether we fear it or not depends on how prepared we are for the reckoning of the Day of Judgement. And preparing for death is a lifetime's worth of work.

This booklet discusses what you should do before, during and after death. It does not cover rulings concerning the washing, shrouding, and burial of the deceased; rather, the focus is on our attitude towards death, etiquettes of a funeral, dealing with and expressing grief, condolences, etc.

This informational booklet started as a simple pamphlet and then was expanded upon multiple times over the years, culminating in this 2nd edition printed form. Various topics and issues have been added, as well as questions on death related matters.

Note that while this booklet doesn't cover the washing, shrouding, or burial of the deceased, these topics are covered in the below seminar video:
